The London Underground map of salaries

Alternative Tube maps always capture the imagination.

For some indescribable reason, we all love seeing an alternative version of London, underpinned by the familiar intersection locations, colours and structure.

Whether we're looking at walking distances, running times between the stations or even the nearest loo, we love to see Harry Beck's original, iconic design reimagined in new and exciting ways.

A new map, made by Adzuna, a search engine for job advertisements, has revealed the average salaries advertised for jobs within a 1/4 mile of London tube stations.

The top ten most high paying stations are all in Zone 1.

Average salaries around Barbican, Monument, Bank, Cannon Street and St. Paul's were all over £50k, according to the search engine.

The lowest paying tube stop was found to be Uxbridge (£21,786), followed by Hounslow Central/West (22,437) and Elm Park (£22,565)

Here's the average pay by tube lines:

Adzuna co-founder Doug Monro said:

Londoners love to argue about whose tube line is the best, and in terms of pay the Waterloo & City Line takes top place in the commuting charts, with the Circle and Central Lines following close behind.

Meanwhile, Victoria Line commuters may boast of frequent tubes and a speedy service, but this research conclusively shows jobs located along the Victoria Line route offer the lowest pay, proving the Victoria Line is not where the money is.

Unsurprisingly, salaries decreased as the zones go further out, except for a small spike in Zone 8.
