Here are the ways you can help people in Kerala even if you are not in Kerala. There are collection centres set-up in many different cities. You can get in touch with these centres and send in the things that are of utmost importance. There are people from all over reporting damages done and asking for help.

Anywhere in the world

1. You can donate online to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

2.If you are in Bengaluru
Samvada a well known NGO in Bangalore is helping collection of donations that will be used to buy the necessary supplies. They are supporting the on-ground team at Manandavady taluka in Waynaad whereof the massive number (over a lakh) of people affected, 28,000 people have been affected and are now being relocated into 68 camps. All the relief materials (warm clothes, blankets, sarees, lungis and underclothes) collected and bought are being sent to the sub-collectors(RDO). The Pazhassi library and its volunteers are ensuring the coordination with the camps and the RDO office.
Waynaad is completely cut off from the rest of Kerala and the mananthawady – Mysore route is the fastest way of ensuring lifeline support to Waynaad.

The staff of Greenpeace are on ground with 3 rescue boats and are working with the fire and rescue team of the district to help rescue people stuck in their homes and get them to the camps.
There is a critical need for donations small and large at this moment to buy
– nighties for women
– lungis and T-shirts
– underclothes
– warm clothes for infants, young children and adults

The needs will continue to grow and change over the days and we will keep you posted.
