Whether you are superstitious - or just intrigued by the day - find out why it is unlucky and the superstitions some people believe.

When are the 2017 dates?
There will be two Friday the 13ths this year with one falling on January 13 and the other on October 13.

Why is it considered unlucky?
Superstition around the day is thought to have come from the Bible as there were 13 people present at the Last Supper before the crucifixion of Christ.

However some historians claim it dates further back and the 13th was when Eve bit the apple in the Garden of Eden.
