Padmavati row: Karni Sena calls Deepika a 'bazaaru' woman

Shri Rajput Karni Sena founder Lokendra Singh Kalvi called Padmavati actress Deepika Padukone nasty names.

The raging protest over the release of director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming period film Padmavati reached a new low today with the founder of the Shri Rajput Karni Sena, Lokendra Singh Kalvi going on an abusive rant against the film's leading lady Deepika Padukone calling her a 'bazaaru' woman who dances for money.

Speaking to India Today in Patna, Kalvi said that the Sena has called for a Bharat bandh on December 1, the date on which the controversial film is slated to release.

"Padmavati will not release at any cost. Who is Deepika Padukone? Is she the Prime Minister or President that she is challenging us? Will a 'bazaaru' woman like Deepika tell us now what the Rajputs should do? On 1st we have called for Bharat bandh to protest the film," said Lokendra Singh Kalvi.

He further defended the threat given by a member of the Shri Rajput Karni Sena, Mahipal Singh Makarana, to Deepika Padukone to chop off her nose if the release of the film is not stopped. He said that it was the sentiment which should be looked at rather than the words.

"We should go by the sentiments and not the words being used by a protester against Padmavati. What is the status of Deepika? She is just a woman who dances for money," the Shri Rajput Karni Sena founder said.

Kalvi argued that Ranveer Singh, who plays the role of Alauddin Khilji in Padmavati, chose to do this film in order to do couple of intimate scenes with Deepika Padukone.

"Almost one and a half year back, Ranveer Singh himself said that he would play even a role of a villain to do a few intimate scenes with Deepika Padukone," he said.
