Qatar will host the largest military parade in its history

The Qatar National Day marks the largest national march in the history of Qatar to commemorate the National Day today,  December 18.

The National Day is celebrated this year under exceptional circumstances when Qatar is still under siege imposed on it since June 5.

The National March will be attended by senior officials of the state, ministers, members of the advisory Council and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Qatar.

The show begins at 3:15 pm after the arrival of the official procession of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the ceremony will be opened with verses from the Holy Quran, after which the artillery will launch 18 shells to commemorate the National Day and the guests of the ceremony.

HE Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense, will deliver a speech during the ceremony.

The parade begins with the entry of horses and camels, which lasts about 7 minutes followed by the largest air show by Qatari air forces, Major General Salem Al Ahbabi, General Coordinator of the Military Show told Al Sharq.

He added that  the military parade is different this year from previous years.

He said that the show  includes for the first time new fighter aircrafts, including the Apache, F-15 and French Rafale aircrafts will make a number of flights as it passes in front of the main platform, and the military shows will be attended by a number of Al Zaeim College aircrafts, led by highly trained Qatari crews.
