These boys wore off-shoulder tops to school to teach a lesson to the authorities

These pictures of boys in women's clothing is quite a sweet slap on the face of stereotypes.

While societies across the globe are still fighting the shackles of stereotypes and moral censorship, it is interesting to see how the youth today is not only more aware about issues but is also putting a foot forward to challenge them.

Civil codes of conduct, in themselves, often bear a sense of hegemonic authority that one dare not flout. And it is from this authoritarian position that a particular school in California decided to wear the hat of the "protector" of women, when its administration sent home some girls on their very first day of school.

The reason, you ask? It's because the girls dared to disobey rules, by wearing off-shoulder tops to San Benito High School. The authorities claimed these off-shoulder tops were "revealing".

If you thought questions about decency, especially with respect to a woman's clothing, was only a third-world problem, this incident will make you reconsider.

However, what followed the episode, not only won gazes but also proved that the students were definitely united against the onslaught of sexism, irrespective of their gender.

As a fitting response to the decision, a group of boys went to school the next day wearing off-shoulder tops, as a mark of protest.

Thankfully, their efforts paid off, when the principal, Adrian Ramirez, decided to address the matter over a positive dialogue with the students. The school has further issued an official statement about organising a student committee to look into the issue of the dress code, reported Storypick.
